History
Stanbury Court was first called Stanbury Court Mansions. Shortly after Stanbury Court was built, in 1937 major rebuilding began on the Haverstock Hill frontage. Residents of Stanbury Court first appeared in the 1938 Electoral Register
Like other areas Belsize Park suffered damage in the Second World War but the effect of this would have mitigated by having a large and deep underground air-raid shelter located in Belsize Park during the Second World War that would have accommodated and protected the local residents.
